Old Age Help

For many senior citizens the problems of life begin at home. Elder abuse can be in the form of physical abuse, psychological abuse, economic abuse and neglect & isolation. The biggest challenge with elder abuse is that it is usually hidden. A sense of fear that they may be abused more if they speak up leads to elder abuse being hidden. Hence empowering senior citizens is the most effective tool in the response to elder abuse. A Helpline for senior citizens enables them to reach out for help and assistance against abuse. It is also helpful in information dissemination thus creating awareness amongst senior citizens in a number of matters.
The nature of cases handled by the Essaic NGO are as follows :

  • Loneliness and how to cope with it
  • Negotiation in disputes within the family and outside
  • Elder abuse and ways to resolve them
  • Writing of Will and making it a legally valid document
  • Elders’ inability to move around in a city in search of treatment and doctors
  • Total feeling of insecurity, doubt, fear and helplessness and not having anyone else to depend on
  • Information on old age homes, medical devices, attendant etc.

Children Help

Save the Children works for and with children, it works for equality, equal education, equal nutrition, equal health, equal opportunities, gender equality, humanitarian situations and relief during natural disasters

One of our core focuses apart from working on the ground is Advocacy and influencing policy. We believe that unless we continuously work with Government, National and International bodies to raise issues that need resolution or policies that need change, our work will not be complete.

Save the Children spends funds collected where it is most needed, by spending in programmed across India that help improve the health and education situation of children child labor, child marriage, child pregnancies, abuse and emergency situations.

We believe that if there is one fund in which Indians should donate, it is Save the Children. Save the Children has a strong base of over 115000 individual supporters who donate money; it has 35 corporate and 38 Institutional supporters.  But there remains a huge gap between funds required and funds available, therefore we urge you do donate whatever you can. More donations mean, a better future for more children and thereby a better future for India. Below are some markers of the current situation that we are fighting.

What is Child Sponsorship?

The unique feature of Essaic NGO is Child Sponsorship programme. For many children in need, poverty and hopelessness is a constant presence in their lives.

Their lives do not hold much promise for a bright future. Caught in a cycle of poverty and exploitation, these children are lost to education and other forms of development.

All they need is someone to believe in their dreams and give them a chance for a better future.

Through Essaic NGO Sponsorship programme, you can be the ray of hope in a child's life. For small contribution every month, you can sponsor a child.

Your sponsorship will provide a child with access to education, proper health care and clean drinking water. The child's family and community will also benefit through development initiatives and livelihood assistance.

The root of poverty often lies in illiteracy.' Less than half of India's children between the age 6 and 14 go to school. A little over one-third of all children who enroll in grade one reach grade eight. At least 35 million children aged 6 - 14 years do not attend school.

First Aid

The aim of the first aid course is to train individuals in basic first aid – to a high standard, to enable individuals carry out appropriate first aid in an emergency situation. Following the course the participants will be able to manage a casualty who is injured, or suffers from a serious illness, until the emergency services arrive or the casualty is evacuated to a medical facility.

It is important to note that there are several levels of first aid training. Essaic NGO conducts basic first aid for participants with little or no first aid training that enables them to handle casualties at a basic level. A more comprehensive Emergency Medical Training is offered to participants with basic first aid training as emergency responders capable of offering pre hospital procedures. Both training courses are offered to individuals working in hostile environments to prepare them in handling medical or trauma cases.
